Default What is the best photoshop?

I am new to photography so what is the best type of Photo shop?

most people will agree that photoshop (the program)...is the best..."photoshop" lol if that makes any sense.

Wait...unless you mean like...which version of photoshop...(or do you mean like...the best image editing program?)

No such thing as best type of photoshop (trust me they all all the same,except some have more features), there is however the latest photoshop out and its called Photoshop CS3

Photoshop CS3 is the standard by which most of the graphics arts programs are measured by, however it is also $700. If you are looking for something simpler (and cheaper), Photoshop Elements is a great value at $100, by far the best band for the buck out there...

even something like GIMP is pretty sweet in my opinion...

There's similar photo shop programs, that don't cost as much or are even free. Try GIMP or Paint.NET

Photoshop CS3 and then Photoshop CS2. I use CS2 and am completely happy with it.

I get them for free. From the studio. HAHAHA there is version wich can be installed on many computers. + Updates.
But if you dont have that kind of money and you are REALLY REALLY want to have photoshop you can download it and use it for 30 days for free. then format your computer and then install photoshop again. So that means you have to format your computer every 30 days. and also its legal. You can get the updates too.
