Im not too sure, when you said operating the hard drive. But instead of opening up your mac get an external enclosure and put the hard drive in it, and plug it wit Mac.
If you want to run windows on MAC use Parallels Desktop
www.parallels.com/

i think VMware also has one for Mac called vmware fusion
www.vmware.com/beta/fusion/

oh ok, now i understand. You wont be able to run windows program on Mac, windows and Mac and very different OS's. From your Mac you can only access your music, pdf's and office files nothing else.
You have to get alternative software from the ones you used on windows.

OS X can't natively write to NTFS either, you may have to look into thrid party, google ntfs.progs

I would network them, way easier, way less hassle and it works natively

sony's suck way over priced, hard to service and if anything ever breaks good luck trying to even get parts. I used to service sony laptops.

If you are going to get a PC laptop get HP business class or IBM

or

Get a mac laptop
