MS Word so slow!

My computer is not lagging in any other area, but when I start up MS Word, it takes about 30 seconds for a blank document to appear. What coul dbe causing this? Are there Word settings that I can change?

Possibly a shortage of RAM? What are your specs?

it only takes like a second since they put like a ms office boost thing on startup.

mine normally lags when its doing the virus scan bit when im opening a new document, im not sure if theres a way to turn this off

might be a source of slow down for you as well? just a suggestion
