Default dell sata hd format issue

Ok here goes...I have a dell dimension 8400 which originally came with 1 sata hd and no floppy drive. I just recently installed a 2nd sata hd and I want to go to raid 0. In order to install a clean version of windows you have to download a 3rd party raid driver from dell and copy it to a floppy disk at when prompted it asks you to "hit f6 if you need to install a 3rd party scsi or raid driver" since this is sata I have to hit f6 so I do, after a few minutes of loading other drivers off of windows cd a blue screen pops up and says something to the effect of" windows cannot identify one or more of the mass storage devices on your computer, to specify a location hit S" so I do and then it tells me to "please insert floppy into drive a labeled manufactures hardward disk". At this point you insert the floppy with the raid driver into drive a then hit enter. Problems is when I hit enter it access my floppy drive for a split second then stays on that screen it dosent continue with the installation. I went into my bios and selected "integrated" for the floppy drive which I assume means the computer should look for the floppy. I dont know if the floppy drive is bad or if I have the wrong driver. I have tried 4 different floppys and the same thing happens. I've had the 2 hd's for awhile now and I believe my jumpers are still set to master and slave which im not sure if that is the issue or not. Lastly, when I dl the driver form dell I click on the .exe file and it creates the driver floppy fine so I know im doing that right. any help would be greatly appreciated.
