A loose wire for some reason arcing, a bad fan motor binding up on you, a fan loaded up with dust being a more common cause? You will probably be far better off simply looking into seeing a replacement put to use in order to keep the card from going toast on you rather then trying to jerry rig repair a bad fan to start with.
