Ok, this printer was always slow (HP Photosmart C3100 Series), but worked fine untill I recently purchased a (Hawking Technology) printer server so I could hook up two computers to the same printer through my (Linksys) router.

It really worked the first time, I spent about 2 hours configuring and passing the error messages, and it worked for about 10 minutes.

But now that's all changed since I recently bought a Vista computer. Now I am trying to hook up a Vista and a XP computer to the same Print Server through the same router.


THE PROBLEM; Well there are so many problems. First, the XP.

On the XP computer, the printer driver won't show up on any list and going online doesn't help either, I spent hours trying to install the driver on there and now I know it's no longer possible. I realize that there's a driver sticky on the forum, and I will try to install the driver on the XP tomorrow since the computer is haywire at the moment.

On the Vista, the driver is installed and I'm in the right port, server, and everything, but it just doesn't work. The print job is always queued and I know it's connected to the right computer.

Also, not only is the printer driver driving me insane, the driver for the printer server also seems to work 25% of the time.


I'm willing to make any change in order to be able to use one printer for two computers, that's all I want to do. I'm sure people will need much more information than this, so feel free to ask questions. I really appreciate your help if you reply, since this has been bugging me for months.
