Default Memory speeds?

I have a chip in a laptop that is 266 mhz can I put a 533 mhz or a 667 mhz chip in and will it work without problems? or should I just put in a 266 mhz? I'm thinking by putting in a 667 mhz it will be faster than a 266 mhz? Thanks.

You're getting them mixed up, DDR2 533 runs at 266Mhz, so you have DDR2 533 currently. Depending on your motherboard, you should be able to run DDR2 667 (333Mhz), but it's not worth the upgrade.

Maybe but you don't know that for sure. It could be PC2100. I know it's written like they have DDR2 but you can't tell one way or the other with what we've been given.

Very true, I guess I just assumed he was talking about DDR2 because he mentioned 533 and 667.

jskd82, do you currently have DDR2 RAM?
