For that amount, I would stay with what you already have listed. That should run vista and everything else you need to run. You already have a decent system.
$150? That will get you a motherboard, but that's about it. |

n order to install and play Battlefield 2142, your system must meet or exceed the following minimum system requirements.
Operating System: Windows XP with latest service pack installed DirectX 9.0c February 2006 edition (included) CPU: 1.7 Ghz RAM: 512 Mb Video Card: 128Mb DirectX compliant video card, Pixel shader 2.0 and above. Hard Drive space: 1.8Gb of space is required to install the game Internet connection: 128kbit Cable/DSL connection In order to play the game at the recommended resolution, detail and performance levels, your computer should match or exceed the following specifications: Operating System: Windows XP with latest service pack installed DirectX 9.0c February 2006 edition (included) CPU: 3.0 Ghz RAM: 1.5 Gb Video Card: 256Mb DirectX compliant video card, Pixel shader 2.0 and above. Hard Drive space: 1.8Gb of space is required to install the game Internet connection: 512Mb Cable/DSL connection Your video card specs Graphics Core 256-bit Memory Interface 128-bit Fill Rate 1.3 Billion Texels/Sec. Vertices Per Second 81 Million Pixels per Clock (peak) 4 Textures per Pixel 16 RAMDACs 350 MHz Yeah it will play it on the lowest settings, but I would upgrade to what you can afford. You are like me, still stuck with an agp card. I have an ATI 9700pro card and it plays Unreal Tournament 2k4 very well at high res. But BF is a lot more demanding game. I'm waiting to upgrade until the newest release of Unreal comes out, which should be around October. By then the prices will have dropped for everything.
