Default dont know socket

I am trying to find out what socket i have on my motherboard, or better yet what mother board it is. Its a hp computer and i have a stock motherboard. Is there a menu or anything i can access to find out the information about my computer. It is about 4 years old and i am looking to upgrade my processor, so I'm not suprised if my motherboard is out dated at this point anyways.

What is the model of your computer? You can look up your specs on HP's website.

Yeah, You will need a new motherboard I assume to have an Intel Core 2 Duo... I'm sure I've told you before, but nice name!
