Default Building Web Sites

Are there online tutors or programs that are easy to comprehend that teach you the ways to build websites?

It would be an alternative to going to an actual class.

Thanks.

Why not just use a WYSIWYG editor? It lets you do alot of basic/moderate tasks, and you can see the code to see how it all works. You cant build a professional looking site (without alot of time) from reading books that start using:

<HTML>
HELLO WORLD
</HTML>
