OI!! OI!! OI!!!

the case and PSU are from www.pccasegear.com.au - so far service has been good - timely and efficent. they seem to stock some of the otherwise hard to find stuff (like the case and PSU), just dont ask them for advice on watercooling (long story)

The rest were bought from www.itsdirect.com.au - they seem to have the best prices, not to mention they also stock some hard to find parts. I had trouble finding the C3DF RAM, and they stock it for the cheapest price in aust i believe. same goes for HDD

I found the only place in aust to get the DTEK fuzion waterlocks was at a place called www.flabbergast.com.au and they have them for $95 each!!!!

In general, what I did/do to find the best place in aust is google the part, specific to australia (eg - "corsair dominator pc6400 c3df"). (adding the word compare can help too here)

Next, look through the results for websites that compare prices, some common ones were www.shopbot.com.au ; www.myshopping.com.au ; au.shopping.com

I found shopbot to be the best.

The catch here is that I didnt get good results and selctions if i went directly to those websites first - i dont know, must be a programming thing.

SUP PPLS,

well i have pics of the case with only the HDD and PSU but i forgot my bloody phone cable in QLD so that'll have to wait till i get back home. My mobo, RAM and CPU should be arriving thursday after next (when I get home) and hopefully by then I would have ordered a video card!!!

here's a question:

whY the hell should I spend $480 on a retail version of vista home premium?

OR rather,

what are the benefits of spending that much versus the $150 (or sumthin) OEM version?

(please note - I will upgrade to phenom CPUs when they come out)

I believe the only difference with the OEM is you dont get Microsoft tech support or something. OEM is definately the way to go

I'll also update you all on a little problem I encountered,

the bloody massive and awesome looking PSU was so long that I had to remove the top fan to fit it in (among a bunch of other stuff as well. I want to put it back on but wasnt sure how to go about doing it as i'll have to put it in a different location to where the fittings are

oh yeah, got the 2 D-tek fuzion cpu blocks, drooooooole
gonna use arctice sooling mx-2 TIM

I think getting two AMD 64 FX-74 is a waste of money, and that will consume a lot of power...........

The intel quad core are cheaper, faster, consume less power, produce less heat and overclocks much better. C2Q Q6600 cost under $300, why would you waste your money on AMD 64 FX-74 ??!!

And did you say that your going to upgrade to 8 cores in the future ??! LOL, but most programs today can't even utilize 4 cores, so you need to wait for a long time to have programs that utilize 8 cores.
