2000 vs XP Pro

Does anybody know how much space Windows 2000 and Windows XP Professional takes?
I have 2000 at the moment and also have XP Pro on CD, is it worth upgrading?

I think that Windows XP Pro takes up +- 1.5 Gigs of space. However, it is worth it in terms of software support. I say go with the flow and upgrade.

How about best of both worlds

partition your Harddisk and make your PC Dualboot select which ever one suits you as

dont think i'll do that. I have a 5.6GB HDD. Think ill be upgrading soon.

I much prefer 2000, much much more reliable than XP from my experiences.

win2k since you have a small hard drive.
winxp inflates to double the size when you install sp2.

not too sure about win2k sp4 tho, but you should install that before going on the internet.

Perhaps but 2000 doesnt have much of a need for "self-diagnosis" -- what diagnosis apps were you talking about?

I mean that if something is unplugged, a bubble pops up saying that.....OK maybe I don't totally know what I mean

But it is very user-friendly, IMO
