Default Building a New System

ok i am planning on building a new system, i keep looking through the mags, piecing information together then changing my mind.
basically i want to play
halo 2
sims 2
battlefield 2
halflife 2
C&C (The New One)
Anno (the new one)

Well you get the basic idea, right now my system has trouble playing all off these, all i am asking for here is if your system can play all off these games with at least medium settings (not lowest) can you post as much information as possible about your hardware (Make and model). because i have the scariest feeling that i am gonna spend a fortune on parts and find they dont fit each others slots, so i am gonna be lazy and copy one of your systems...

Please

How much are you looking to spend? Then people can recommend parts.

either go with a 4300, a 6320, or a q6600. anything else is a waste imo.

Looking to spend about £800 in total over the course of 3 months, buying the parts as i go, just if i know what i am after i can ask around, see what people have laying around, get deals in the local comp shops as they come up and of course ebay and local comp mags.
vista not a problem, friend brought it didnt like it so he is selling to me for £20.

All I can say is that you should use Vista for Halo 2. I think you have to actually...but there is always someone out there who finds out how to run it on the lower-end operating systems.

Spending all that money over the course of 3 months can be slightly disastrous. Pc component price tend to fall so very fast, so you'd probably save more money if you just bought everything at the end of three months, even if you were looking for the best prices and deals over the 90 day period as you stated. :\

$40 bucks for Vista is a great deal though, I'm not telling you to pass up the best of deals.
