i think it is just for benchmarks. Normally it is imposible even to notice 3000mhz to 3300 mhz, but benchmarking does. If you score higher, you feel better and think you got the most out from your product.

I think those two reasons alone are the main ones why people overclock.

Me personally..... just for the benefit of more fps in games. But if i only get like an extra 5fps, whereas the temps have raised like 3C then i forget it.

I OC so my folding at home goes faster, and that is something to feel good about.

I overclock so I can get more performance for my money, since right now my system performs better then a stock system with an X6800 and an 8800GTX.

super pi 12 seconds

other than that, ram is underclocked

crossfire is stock and still getting scary FPS in games. maybe when crysis comes out then i'll go clocking those two.
