Default Crysis

The specs for Crysis haven't been updated in a while, and I've been planning on building a new PC pretty soon, do you think these specs will run it?

Mobo-Gigabyte GA-M61P AM2 ATX http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128034

CPU-AMD AM2 6000+ Dual Core http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103773

GPU-Sapphire 2600XT (I've been looking at this and the Sapphire X1950Pro)
I don't plan on getting Vista, so between that and the DX9 X1950Pro, which do you think would run Crysis better @ DX9?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102102

3 Gigs Corsair ValueSelect RAM (2x1GB) (2x512 MB)

With that, 500W PSU and Thermaltake case, that totals up to around $785 from Newegg with about 40 bucks in shipping. (I'm going to recycle HDD's)

So do you think that'll run Crysis?

I bet your graphics card will be a big bottleneck. Get the 2900XT instead. I have the CPU and it flies, and I also have that motherboard, its rock solid so far.

At this point in time, since the game isn't out yet, there is no telling what will be able to run the game. I'm speculating that it will run, but not very well at all.

here's a suggestion, wait till the game comes out, then upgrade, by then things will be cheaper and youll have a better experience, that's why i decided to not buy a new build until christmas or so.

I would go X1950, don't let anyone tell you that Crysis is going to be a computer killer. It cracks me up when some noob comes in the forum and starts having attacks of paranoia about Crysis and their PC. Yeah, it should run Crysis pretty swift, if not an X1950 then a 7950GT, I wish the 512Mb model wasn't that much more expensive and wasn't mainly AGP. Instead of 3Gb of ValueSelect, get this RAM(below). 2Gb is plenty for DX9 Crysis... Use the rebates, just as a tip... Whether an X1950 or 7950GT, should be a very nice DX9 rig, I might buy an AMD 6000+ for another rig, good choice in CPU's.

yea, the C2D Q6600 may be faster, but Amd has proven to be reliable with customer support and what not.

haha....who cares about support, it's a CPU and AMD shouldn't have to do an RMA, Newegg, etc. should. I am Intel all the way, smoking AMD up right now, besides, what would you need support for anyway? If you OC an AMD chip and it burns, your warranty is voided anyway....

I say stick with the 6000+:

1. He said budget, 6000+ is ~$169
2. the 6000+ is faster than an E6600 at STOCK

I think you should wait for Crysis to come out before deciding on what system you should get. I'm planning on building a new system just to play Crysis in its full glory.
