Default Toshiba fan repair?

Hi,
I am looking for advice how or is it possible to repair by myself my Toshiba satellite laptop . The problem is that when I turn it on it works about 10 min and then suddenly turns off . When I touched the computer's down side it was hot . I saw that the fan is not working at all and I am pretty sure that that is the problem. I do not want to bring it to a repair shop because the price for sure would be more than the price of the laptop by itself I bought it an year ago for 500$
Do you have any suggestions ?

thanks

if the fan wasn't working at all..
i'd say, first thing's first, and get a new fan..

If it's gone head into a laptop shop and buy a laptop cooler. You put the laptop on top of it and plug it in Via USB and it's supposed to work really well Theres 3 fans in the laptop cooler.

Make sure the fan connector isnt loose first. Make sure nothings in its way so it catches it and stops. Otherwise, buy another fan. IF you can find it.
