Default Outlook send and receive problems

OS: Windows XP Pro.
Office 2003
Broadband connection working perfectly on IE

All reinstalled, due to a crash. Emails configured and all tested as working perfectly with the ISPs. Yet, when Send and Receive is pressed, a weird error message appears saying: -The operation failed. An object can not be found-. No emails can be sent or received.
The same happens when in tools/options/mail setup/send and receive is clicked.
Zone alarm is configured to allow connection.
First repairing Office 2003 then re-installing it did not help.
Please help!!!
Thanks
pvm
