Default Overclock Athlon 6000+ confusion!!!

I am using ClockGen (because i only want the overclock for benchmarking) to try and see how much i can overclock my Athlon 6000+. With standard Voltages set in the bios i managed to get up toabout 3.35GHz, according to CPU-Z this was also true. But when i Right clicked on My Computer and went to properties, it Say's "AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 3.04Ghz!!! I could have swore it was at 3.35GHz.

Can anybody put a finger on where i might have gone wrong?

EDIT: When i use CPUMark, i get around 6500 @3GHz. 6660@3.2GHz and 6790 @3.3Ghz. Does this sound right?

Are you using CPUMark v2.1? I get 11532 at 3.6Ghz... I would use the BIOS to OC if that started happening and with that said, make sure you save the BIOS when leaving. That still doesn't sound right.... Make sure you are using the latest versions of CPUMark and CPU-Z. Do you have a Gigabyte board?

Ok, i'll do it in the motherboard instead and see what the results come out like.
Erm, i have an Asrock motherboard. It supposedly has some "United Overclocking Technology" which makes it easier to overclock while still maintaining stability.

When you use a software overclocking program, windows will display what the processor is by the bios, the software overclocking wont kick in till after windows loads
