Default Google Earth problem

I had to install a new mb, then repair Win XP Pro, which means my files were copied and then returned. Now when I go to Google Earth and try to access it....no joy. I hve tried to uninstall thru control panel and every other way possible using search, select all ...delete. I get rid of everything and then when I go to download the latest version of which I paid for the 'advanced version,' it tells me I already have it on my computer, pls insert cd to which Google earth was copied to. That I do not have!!
Their help tells you to do the things I have already done thru control panel add/remove. Practically impossible to get a human as everything is written in their 'help directory' each references the other....frustration a bunch.
Tks in advance to any way to uninstall without a cd... FW
