Default My Games dont play smoothly at all.

HI
I built a computer with an abit it7 motherboard, an intel celeron 2.4gb processor, 1gb of ddr ram, and a 256mb radeon 9600pro series graphics card,
also 120G hard drive. i put the games need for speed 2 underground and the game worked ok with low graphics but as soon as i turned up the setting slightly the cars moved like a slide show, i then tried out prince of persia and got a lighting problem as i could not see the player i was using no matter how i tweaked the settings.

thinking it was the graphics card i bought a new powercolor 9250 radeon 256mb graphics card. same problem

i built up another computer using the shuttle mv43 motherboard,2.26gb intel pentium 4 processor, 512 kingston ddr ram, 80G hard drive and the geforce FX 128mb graphics card. it moved l;ike the background picture on the desktop computer.

HELP!!!!!!!!!

Uhhhhhh .... the 9600Pro was a superior card....

Which card? AH regardless DX9 on a GeForceFX card is bad news. (apparently NFSU2 requires DX9 support)

Quote:
Recommended Operating System: Windows XP Processor: CPU Pentium 4 2.4GHz or Athlon 2200 Video Card: Geforce FX 5700 or Radeon 9600 or higher CD-ROM: CDRom 52x or DVD Rom 16x RAM: 512 MB RAM
As you can see you barely made in under the bar for a realistic minimum requirement

Default better

If you really want something that will play your games, get a Athlon 2700+(or better), and a NVIDIA 6600GT, NVIDIA 6800LE 128mb, or a Radeon 9800 Pro

1. Don't waste money on a new card, the 9600Pro (256Mb) is fine
2. The thing lacking is the CPU, get like a 2.6 P4 or a 2.8, both are fairly cheap.
3. Why would you downgrade your graphics card?
