Default Whats the difference between AMD processors?

I am looking into buying a new computer. we bought one yesterday (still in the box) with a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 5000+ that comes with a 17" LCD monitor. today i found another computer with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ with a 19" LCD.

whats the difference between the 2 processors? and is it worth it to sacrifice the 5000+ processor for a 19" LCD?

The difference is simply the frequency. Personally, I would sacrifice a 5000+ for a larger monitor. I love my 19" monitors.

The X2 4000 runs at 2.1ghz and the X2 5000 runs at 2.6ghz. Dont they offer the 19in with the X2 5000 for a little more.

I would also go with the larger monitor and slower processor.
I love having a nice sized monitor, it makes all the difference.

It'd be pretty hard to OC a pre-built PC, and it sounds like s/he has a pre-built.

I still agree, though.. go with the cheaper processer and larger monitor.. you can upgrade the processor later if you want.

I currently run a 3800+ X2 Dual Core (2.0GHz) and it runs extremely clean.. I upgraded from a Single Core 3500+ (2.2GHz).

I doubt you'd notice the difference between 2.1GHz and 2.6GHz.

you can upgrade the monitor in the future even easier than the cpu... then you could even bust out some dual monitors. I'd get the better processor, I don't think overclocking the cheap one would be a good choice

umm look at it like this, which way would you get more bang for your buck, a proccessor that is about 100$ more correct me if im wrong, or a monitor that is about 75 bucks more. I'd go with the proccessor. You can never have too much computing power.
