Default Deleted Partition - Please Help

I Have Mistakenly Deleted A Primary Partition On An Ext Hd.
Its 400 Gb But Is Now Only Clocking Up 372 As Useable So Obviously The Data Is Still There. I Tried All Sorts Of Freeware Programmes To Recover It But To No Avail. Can Anyone Help?

Default partition problems

thanks but i tried this software. they all cant see the missing space on the drive guess because there is no partition but i am sure the must be a way to get the files back.

If you are running XP, go into disc management and see what is shown as far as drives go. You just might have to make the partition again and format it. BUT, on a 400gb drive you would only have about that much useable space anyway. On my 250 gb drive I only have 232 gb useable. 400,000,000,000 bytes divided by 1,073,741,824 = 372 actual useable gb. Read this to better understand how hard drive space is calculated.
