Ok some dudes on this forum have me FREAKING out. I just sold the laptop in my sig on ebay for 800 bucks. At first I was like cool, that's more than I expected to get so I was happy. But now their saying that it looks like a scam and that when the people get my laptop they will say that they didn't get it and take the money back? WTF!?!!? They can do that? Does this happen alot on ebay? The dude looks legit to me, with over 4000 positive feedback and a 99.4 rating. The buyer says it's a computer parts store that sells oem computer parts. That might explain why they paid more? They needed older model sony vaio parts? Anyone know anything about this stuff?

eBay can be some scary sh!t... the way to avoid that particular scam is to keep proof of delivery. At the VERY LEAST send it with delivery confirmation. Definitely insure it. And at best require a signature at time of delivery.

Oh yes I totally planned on all of that, I think that he is legit anyways, I read ALL 4000 something reviews and all the negatives were over something dumb, 1 said scam but it was resolved (The dude sold something the day before x-mas and wanted payment but they went on vacation or something goofy) Anyone have any addition things I can do?

It sounds Fine. I bought my laptop off ebay and did'nt have a problem. Just make sure the seller has good feedback.

well you wont send the item till he has paid you. Once you have the cash and send the goods (with proof of delivery) theres nothing he can do.

He already payed, paypal is verifying, should I wait till it is verified before I ship?

i think that if they are parting it out, you shouldnt worry about it. they can double their money pretty easily. plus, im sure ebay has some sort of security policy. if it works out, congrats! you got a he!! of a deal

Definitley wait no matter who it is. I prefer money order though - paypal takes out $? fee.

i use ebay a lot ( i mean a lott) and I say you have to look out for scammers and other types of people out there

if you want a second opinion PM me his ebay id and ill check it out for you...
