Default Someone explain to me memory timings

Someone explain to me what memory timings do exactally to performance, or give me some kinda link, I know the lower it is the better it performs but like

say ddr2 667 with low timings and ddr2 800 with high timings .. the one with higher frequency will still perform better right?

cause you see performance ram thats like got low timings but sometimes there not high frequency

so someone explain to me how it works and how much in performance it'll effect u

The higher frequency RAM goes faster than the lower timings but people still go for the lower timings for some reason. Either way if you OC your RAM's timings or optimize or whatever it still is hardly noticeable even in benchmarks... it's mostly just so you can tell people you OC'ed your RAM.
