View Single Post - sound quality poor when played directly from CD/DVD

I just have the onboard soundcard. (Realtek AC97) If I play a song or a video file from my hard disk, it works fine, but if I play a DVD or a CD the sound quality is just poor. I have to crank up the volume at max to hear the sound. Any suggesstions?? Thank you
