Default Processor upgrade on ECS motherboard?

Greetings,

I have a friend who has an ECS motherboard model M935 and was considering a processor upgrade. I have been to the ECS site and punched in the numbers and nothing was found. Am i looking in the wrong place?...

Ok, so here is question #1; What is the max processor i can place on this board?...It currently has a socket 478 intel celeron 1.7ghz cpu....

....here is question #2; is the current processor overclock-able"?......thanks again!

1: not sure right now, ECS's site hasn't been kind to my internet lately...

2: every processor is overclockable. but it's an ECS motherboard, don't expect alot from it.

I believe this is the link to the specs: http://www.shopping.com/xPF-ECS-PCCH...35-MOTHERBOARD

It looks like it will support any P4 with a 533Mhz bus.

Most boards dont actually list the highest supported processor speed. The P4 line didnt get that high with the 533Mhz bus, so I would think that any P4 which has a 533Mhz bus would work in that motherboard.

....thanks for the reply...well look, i am relativly certain that i can't just whack in a 3.6ghz processor in this thing..it has to have a limitation as to how large/fast a processor i can run on this board..i have been to the ecs site and the site is of no help at all at this point.....thanks anyway.......anyone else?

I think the highest 533MHz CPU that is still sold that I've seen is a 2.8 Northwood. It's an alright CPU but it's still expensive for what it is now adays.

The highest processor available to that board, is a 3.06 ghz northwood pentium 4 with HT.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Pentium-4-IV-P4-...QQcmdZViewItem

there you go, there's one with a heatsink.
