Saw this on the news, how an austalian person's heart stopped after drinking 8 cans of red bull in 5 hours.
That is the sort of thing I could possibly do, unaware of the effects. Luckily I dont have those type of energy drinks. I think they need better warnings on the cans. Full story here http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2007/...857834956.html

How can anyone drink 8 cans in 5 hours? That stuff tastes terrible. That is a hell of a lot of caffeine though in a short amount of time though. Still they say don't have more than 2 cans a day do they really need to say don't have 8 in 6 hours? I mean come on, this is darwin at work

I have never tasted red bull, I could drink a lot of coke, and those cans are fairly small, if it is hot and you are just drinking it as fluids to replenish your thirst, I think it could be possible.
And i have definitely seen people consume the equivalent of that volume of fluids in beer over a 5 hour period.

640mg of caffeine in 5 hours. Thats like drinking a strong black coffee every 35 minutes. Thats crazy. I have a red bull occasionally when I start really early in the morning and need a kick start. Its not the best tasting stuff but compared to 'Mother' its delicious.

Coca-Cola Classic has 34mg of caffeine per 12oz. I think you'd be very hard pressed even on a hot day to down ~19 cans of coke in 5 hours
![]() I guess that's only ~1.5 cans of red bull/hour but still, drinks with caffeine don't exactly replenish you.

There's 80mg of caffeine in a 250ml (~8.5 oz) red bull. Thats one can every 37.5 minutes. They must've been pinging of the walls something chronic! With coke I think you'd have a sugar rush before caffeine did anything to you.
