Get a Zalmann or a Arctic cooling Hs/f.
It's not that 4 cores aren't as good as 2, more that the apps and programs need to be designed to work with 4. Until that happens a Quad-core chip will not perform to it's full potential. |

yea I'm kinda disappointed with my choice...It creates too much heat/performance. Go with an e6850 and OC it to your heart's content. (Q6600 is at like 38C OC'd to 3ghz with the cores around 55-60 each, while the e6850 could probably get to a much higher clock before reaching those temps)
Also, I really doubt anything will utilize my quad core.

Crysis will, if even alittle. I also expect most new games next year to follow it's example and support quads too. If they don't they're a bunch of morons.

I have the Thermalright ultra 120, arctic silver 5, and an antec p180b case and it STILL heats up. Trust me, go with the e6850

Alittle heat deters from buying the best potential chip?
and we don't know that he is going to overclock, but in the more likely case that he isn't, the q6600 is by far the better chip. In a year from now 4 vs. 2 may be a much easier decision to make. |

it matters if u have enough for 300 now and 300 next year get the e6850, if u donw want to upgrade next year then get the quad, so the choice is if ur rich or not lol
i have the q6600 and watercooling with only 1 radiator in a 75f room and i am getting 30c right now and it is not overclock and it can tace 80c wouldnt go pass 70c so you can overclock it good maby not as good as the e6850, but what would be better in games that will be out in 6 month, all games im playing right now runs perfect on high, f.e.a.r, battlfield 2, battlefield 2142 ccs and so on
