Alright.
I was at MicroCenter and one thing lead to another, and they wanted me to work there, so I have to fill out a form and take a PC test. I am pretty confident I can pass it, seeing how I knew more then some of the employees and I helped some customers out because the employees couldnt answer it. Does anyone know what will be on this test? Or maybe you took a similar one for working at BestBuy or something. Thanks. |

it will be basic hardware and software knowledge, nothing taxing at all... almost everyone on this forum could pass it. I havent taken one of these tests, but i have friends who work in PC retailers here in the UK. You should have nothing to worry about...

For a place like that?
Maybe, what is ram, what is a gpu, what is a cpu, what is a motherboard. Maybe, whats the difference between voltage and current. Ohms law, What do you do before opening a case, or touching any item inside of the case. (ground yourself) Do you know what a beep code is. What is thermal paste and what is it's purpose. Whats the difference between a case fan and a cpu fan. Can you read a multimeter and what is the symbol for a/c vs d/c Mostly simple stuff like that probably. |

Alright.
To assure myself, Ill brush up on my skills, read some guides and stuff. I am going to apply rather soon. Cause they want people for the holidays. So, I'd assume there'd be some training involved. Cause they said they would put me on the floor. Thanks. |
