>_> why are you making ANOTHER thread. I explained this in quite some detail in your last identical thread.

first off, some details, what stepping of q6600 do you have? each has it's own recommend thermal specification.

For a g0, i'd say the max load temp that would be ok for a 24/7 setup would be around 65-71C. If you want to go over that, it's fine, but i wouldn't recommend it for sustained peroid of time.

Right now, i've got my g0 at 3.2Ghz, using 355 x9, at 1.3125V, @52C max load temp. Intels recommened voltage specs are 1.100V-1.372V for the g0, found here http://processorfinder.intel.com/det...px?sSpec=SLACR

So to answer your question, no it won't, not at all, you still have a lot of leway. What voltage is your set at? (bios v)

That means you have a B3, so you don't have as much leeway with the temps. Just means your is going to be hotter at same frequency, and your max temp is lower.

These are your specs http://processorfinder.intel.com/det...px?sSpec=SL9UM

So your recommended max is 62.2C, you can go above it, but for 24/7 use, i'd stay around that temp.

About the screenshot program, i use this, it has a 30 day limit or something, but should be enough for now. http://www.screenshot-utility.com/download.html

lol fraps is supposed to only work in game or in certain fullscreen media applications...I think there might be a setting to change that.

Anyways, download core temp and orthos. You have the same revision (stepping?), b3, as me so I'll tell you my settings at 3ghz:

(Say you want to go to 2.8ghz, simply divide 2800 by 9 and there's your desired FSB)
FSB: 333mhz (for both ram and cpu)
Multiplier: stuck at 9 for the q6600 (i haven't tried lowering it, bleh)
CPU voltage: 1.3112
Ram timings: 4-4-4-12
Ram Multiplier: 2.40 (so it's at its stock, 800mhz)
Ram voltage: 1.8v (default from motherboard)

In core temp settings, set it to show tray icon, and it will show your 4 temperatures. Run 4 instances of orthos, and in task manager set the affinity of each process to run on only one of the cores. Now set your test type to 'small fft - stress cpu' and click start on all four of them. If you have a cpu usage indicator, all 4 cores will be at 100%. Leave this running for as long as you want to (it's basically a stability test) and your core temperatures shouldn't rise above 70 each (if your room is hot, they'll be around that under load. My room is pretty hot, it's a california summer, and my core temps under load go to about 65C tops. BIOS and iTAT show 38C max under load, as they only read the sensor of the entire processor.
