Default operating choice

hi i have a sony laptop and i had to re-install it.when i go to start it up it ask me to choose what operating system to start .now i no this is not a normal thing to do.can someone help me,thanks...
ps i have a driver issues to.my text is real big and i went on the sony site and downloaded all the drivers but that didnt work.so im not sure what else to do.this came with vista home premium.i did a back up but when i put the disc in it didnt work.so here i am stuck.hope you can help me .thank you.

first off click start and type msconfig and go to the boot tab and remove the bottom entries (assuming the top one is the one that works).

Then you have to download the correct drivers for your video card. right click my computer, select manage, and go to device manager. Look for any ?. Your video controller should be listed with a ?, so right click on it and select update driver. you must be connected to the internet, and it will search and install your driver.
