Hi, I just wanna try OCing my Q6600 with the least effort. Meaning, without spending more money.
And I'm a N00b at this. Can I just simply rise the clock speed from Bios? The OC 101 said that if there's no AGP/PCI lock, the mem might have trouble keeping up. How does that apply? How do I avoid trouble with this issue? From those that are experienced with OC q6600, how much can i raise the clock speed by, without having to go water cooling? I have a thermaltake V1 cpu fan btw. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/444 Beside the heat of the CPU, what else should I be worried about? Thank you very much!

Overclocking too much and burning out something.
I would first recommend AS5, Arctic Silver 5, Its only $6 or so. Then, and aftermarket cooler. You stock is fine if yuo doing SOME overclocking. Just raise the clock and watch the temps.

Forgot:
OC around 10-25MHz each time, save, restart. Too much of an jump will = crash.

you already have a top of the line machine. don't need to overclock unless for benchmark purposes.

Heard of the Q6600 reaching 4GHz ?
OVerclocking is FINE. You can always turn back when you've done it.
