Default report thread

this is just a general question. does reporitng a thread like spam help remove it quicker or are we better off just leaving it alone and let you clean it up?

If you can see this, you have WAY TOO much time on your hand. Or you're a mod going through my sig. But if you do, copy and past this in your sig.

Sometimes it does, mostly when the mods knows the person isn't just playing around with the reports

Yes, the best way to deal with spam is to report the post, all relevant moderators are notified immediately. If you want to post that you've reported it, that saves anyone else from reporting it as well, although your post will be deleted along with the spam thread.

When you report a post a link to the post and your comment gets emailed to the admistrators and all moderators of the section it's in.

I'm curious to know, do you see who reported the post / thread? As in the user's name that actually reported it? Or do you just get a flagged up post report anonymously?

Rove.

And to every SuMod of course... And yes, it really does help, if im sitting at my desk and one of those e-mails comes through i get notified immediately so it's about 30 seconds from the point you hit SUBMIT on that report post form to the time a mod gets hear to delete it (if they are at their PC of course)

It is quite helpful to have people use the report button. We don't read every post, but among everyone else, they are all read. It is your way of being able to help keep the forum clean.
