I have a Pixma MP500 printer. When i turn it on, it says "Ink has run out. Replace the ink tank and close the cover." it shows the 2nd Bk ink tank and the M tank as having no ink, even though if I look at the ink tanks themself, they are obviously full. Thanks in advance for any help.

Many times, the chip inside the ink cartridge will signal that there's low or no ink in a cart, regardless if it's empty or not. If the printer won't run until you replace the cartridge, you have three choices:
1. Replace the "empty" cartridge with a new, full one. 2. Gently clean the contacts on the ink cartridges with a cotton swab and alcohol and replace it. 3. Look for a software reset tool download online for your printer. Many people have good results with these, but not all. tom
