Thank you Daisy. Yes, I'm definitely happy to build it myself.

Some questions
  1. One thing I had forgotten is that I have a brand new, spare hard drive. It's a Seagate Barracuda 7200.9, 500 GB. Would this hard drive work with either/both of the above set-ups? Daisy, I've noticed the hard drive you suggested is a Barracuda 7200.10, so I assume the 7200.9 would be fine?
  2. How loud will the above set-ups be?

Some notes
  • I think I want 4 GB of memory as I often run various memory hogging programs at once.
  • If I can make use of the Seagate Barracuda hard drive, then I don't need another.
  • It doesn't matter what the case looks like as only the front will show.
  • My budget of £500 is flexible, if it helps.
