Default reliable cam corder?

My Sony HC-65 let me down again today.I was filming a play and stood to sell 200 copies at $10 each but the camcorder just stopped working half way through the program with no warning. Previously I had a Sony HC 40 but donated it to the Goodwill after the 6th malfunction. Sony repairs never solved any of the problems and they refused to honor the lemon law. I plan to junk the HC-65 too. Can anyone reccomend a reliable digital camcorder? my Sony's have spent more time in or in transit to repair facilities than at home.
