Yes, the E8400 is 3.0. But I want to clock it at 3.5 without overheating or anything. But I just don't think I would need a third party fan for it.

I turn my computer off when I'm not using it (for periods of time) so I don't leave it running all day. I figure that would lower the need for a third party fan.
