Default PC not connecting to Printer

Hi guys

I moved recently and due to space my printer isn't close enough to my pc (its still in the same room).
I thus bought x2 3m male/female USb cables so that its connected without me having to move the printer every time i wanted to print. I have now the printer cable connected to usb cable connected to another usb cable connected to pc.
Now for the first time I tried printing something and this message pops up:

one of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it, for assistance click this bubble

So my first thought of course cables are defective.
I connect printer directly to pc works 100%
I connect printer to pc using one 3m usb cable works 100%
I then connect printer to pc using the second 3m usb cable (just the one) works 100%
I do the same using 2 other usb ports, front one as well, works perfect.

Only when i connect the 2 cables together and the printer cable it bugs out.

Is there a fix for this, what am i to do?

Hope my explanation is good, and not to long lol.

Regards
P

I believe there is a distance limitation on usb cables, they can only be so long. The longest you can have it is 5 meters in total length with out the use of a repeater.

Your connecting 2 usb cables together to make 1 cable? I have never heard of anyone doing that before, I'm not surprised it does not work. You are introducing a point of resistance in the connection, that and the fact that when you have a total of 6 meters of cable, it is going to fail.

Using a repeater cable will allow you to go the distance you need to go.

Look at the link provided for a sample of the type of cable you need.
