Default Corrupt HDD folders

The other day I was sitting at my computer and when i attempted to enter into my games folder I got the error "The disk in drive E: is not formatted. Do you want to format it now" I looked around and a few other folders where the same way. I searched online for a bit and some suggested using chkdsk. It deleted some files and i think fixed some others. But now it happened again and I had to use chkdsk. Does anyone know of a program that can help or if my hard drive is about to die. Its less then a year old. Its a Western Digital WD2500KS.
