Signal booster? As in an audio amplifier? You're not supposed to put an amplified signal into an amplifier's pre-amp input, but that would probably solve your problem. However, you may have other problems. Be sure you have decent wires, nothing shorting out, nothing holding the signal back. I assume the system has been tested elsewhere and you didn't have the problems? Using the same wires? Don't use any extensions half-way, if you have, to extend the wires. Try to use full-length wires so there's less of a chance for signal loss.

Eh, there are some ideas... I really need to see the setup to be any more helpful.
