PC eye, your initial comments in post#2 were condersending, nasty, and uncalled for. webbenji's was suggesting a reasonably common known method of decluttering the reg, he wasnt suggesting he'd reinveted the wheel. Your be-littling of his post/comment is not appreciated. Just because you knew of the application already does not make the tip any less valid.

webbenji thank you for your contribution. I was aware of this application are have used in spyware cleans before. But not for a while. I may run it on this work laptop and see what happens

You should look at what you are posting! There was nothing degrading posted about the tip on CCleaner but simply an explaination where that or another registry program can be beneficial.

It's a good cleanup tool with a registry cleaner included. One thing most never realize is just how much garbage lingers on both the drive and in the system registry itself. webbenji learned a good lesson there by seeing a faster startup once the registry saw a good cleaning.

One most commonly seen problem where people think a virus or spyware is causing a system to slowdown is simply now useless registry entries loadin drivers from folders still remaining into memory long after the main program is gone. This can also cause conflicts with other programs at times.
