I'd have to assume so.
Since, when the laptop is moved, it starts beeping.

Pretty cool though.

It utilizes Apple's SMS sensor on the machine so it will only work on the macbooks and macbook pros. It can detect motion, keystroke, keypad stroke, or the lid being closed. It also takes a pic with the built in isight and will email it to a specified address. I have been playing with it all day now, it is kind of cool.

iChat is standardized meaning it works with AIM and most things based off of jabber. iChat itself is based off jabber.

I plan to use Adium, but whats a good IRC client?
I was thinking of using Colloquy 2.x.

I want something easy to use, easy to understand and stuff.

Anything else you can recommend?
Software, hardware, tweaks?

Thanks.

When ever you get it play with the track pad options and see how you like it to be set up and that kinda stuff. If you want to spend the extra get the the Apple Care Plan it's well worth it, it gives three years of coverage the basic plan has one.

If I want to use a headset, can a bluetooth headset work, like for my phone.

If that wont work, does this look good?
http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...nplm=TN335LL/A
Could I also use that on my PC?

Thanks.

I use an application called Blue Phone elite for my macbook pro and my nokia phone. I can sync it via blue tooth and answer and make calls from my laptop as well as send SMS via the software.
