Hello
Can Microsoft Works Word processor open Word? Can Works open Excel. The PC I just bought came with free works that seems OK to me but businesses send things to us in Word or Excel. Do I have to get Microsoft office or is there a way around it? Works would do us, except for not being open things others send us. Also I wanted to sign up for the free "Office" for 3 months for now but since the program was in the PC I can't find product keys. thanks Rob |

Yes. I have Works 6. Mine can open .doc (Word) and .xls (Excel) files easily. Works can also generate new documents and save them with those file extensions to be read in Word (.doc) and Excel (.xls or .xl*).
