Default Proxy Problem

Hello, First post here. I'm having a couple a problems and would like some help if I could get it please.

My daughter has done some thing to this computer so that WHATEVER I do or try to do I get a window that says " Connect to proxy.uconn, edu" and asks for a password. I can get by it by simply clicking on 'cancel' (1-4 times), but I'd like for the computer (this is my computer) to not even acknowledge that proxy window. How can I get rid of this? Thanks Gary

ok you could try opening IE then click on Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections Tab -> LAN Settings -> and untick the box that says "Use a proxy server for your..."

hopefully that will solve your problem.
