right, you'll need both computers on, then go to the kids computer and go to start -> Printers and faxes then on the sidebar click add new printer, follow the steps and when it asks if its a network or local printer click network and then find your pc on the network, double click on that and hopefully the printer should appear. Alternatively you could let it search for one? cant remember if you can do that. anyway, then it will ask for the driver

there we go, choose network printer, then brows for printer, and hopefully find your computer in whatever workgroup you're in

Sorry about that, we just had a short power outage here. The Kid's computer is asking me for a specific name (ex: \\server\printer) or URL (http://server/printers/myprinter/printer/). How do I find out what that is?

You should be able to browse under the "network places" folder, and select your computer, and then your printer. Given that the printer is being shared.
