Default Boost WiFi

Is there something I can buy or make that can boost my wifi?
Like, connected to a laptop, and have a larger range?

I am bit to far for the home router and where I like to sit and go on the laptop.

It'd be nice if its Mac and PC compatible.. Like Via USB or something.

Thanks.

well if it has detatchable aerial then you should be able to get a fairly standard aerial to fit it. Other than that just a better wireless card really is the only option

You can buy an external WiFi adapter. But I think the best option would be to buy a wireless AP, which can be used as a wireless repeater, thereby extending the range further.

All that matters is that it's 802.11b/g compliant, it has nothing to do with being Mac or PC compatible.

I looked at the Cantenna method. I just need something that connects to the computer, for the PC and Mac. I am under the impression that it connects via PCI on a laptop. And I dont think Macs have those.

My router doesn't have an antenna.

Thanks.
