I get what you're saying, totally!
But, When an entire social group of people thinks that this is the "The" music to listen to, it gets irritating, and you associate it with that whole group of people... Where as, you'd meet somebody else in the street and ask them what music they liked, You'd pretty much get a different answer each time.
