Its a heat sink. Early P3s were slot mounted.

A couple different angles. I'm still looking for my drive bay cover
... Messy desk etc. Oh yes and the surrounds are not hooked up at the moment. Also there's still equipment like external HD's not in picks (I keep shoved in file cabnet in closet as I hate too much mess).    Edit: And a pic of the lovely chair my wife got me a couple years back for X-mas.
