Exclamation About to get Vista

Any tips or general stuff?

I'm backing all up photos and stuff onto CD's to put back on...

I heard gaming takes a performance hit, does it?

Bioshock, not running, it'd kill me

Home Premium is awesome, you won't have any problem with the visual themes....

No, Gaming does not take a performance hit, it does better... Games like BF2142(when it lets me login, EA's Account Server's fault), B&W2, CoH, TDU, and Steam games, just seem to work smoother. Vista boots faster than old crappy XP too. I love Vista!! Just some printer driver problems, but that's expected and not MS's fault.

Excellent!

It looks better too!

I've seen a lot of people saying it's bad, but then people I speek to who, have it are loving it.

Will 2GB of RAM be enough? I may get 4GB some time...

Get 64-bit... It runs 32-bit programs perfect.. Plus the OS itself is faster at extracting files, etc. At Idle, I use ~29% of my RAM... I am upgrading to 4Gb But it still flies in games, thanks to the desktop window manager thing, from what I've heard.

64bit Home Premium OEM

You get nothing with basic, its not transparent, no media center, or side bar.
