PCI-e v2.0 or v1.0 doesn't matter if you're getting a 8800 series card, they won't perform different. They won't take the extra bandwith that the PCI-e x16 v2.0 gives, they won't even use 100% of the v1.0

Though that Q9450 is hard to get running on a 680i because it's a Penryn which had problems. Easiest is to get a 780i... Or ofcourse a 680i with a Q6600 (and overclock it a bit to 2.7Ghz), ot you can ofcourse take a Q6700 which is about on par with the Q9450 (0.5% less good, you won't notice) only it's cheaper 40 dollars atleast?
